  • 16 BBTs from ChaTime
  • 100+ pieces of satay
  • 40L of soy milk
  • 25 Magnum Ice cream bars
  • 16 cheap hawker meals
  • 16 McChicken meals during lunch/dinner hour
  • 5 to 6 beers
  • 3 to 4 nights accommodation at a hostel
  • Approx 10 days worth of groceries (for me)
  • A one way plane ticket to one of the neighbouring countries

In general, you will find food & drinks (minus alcohol), transportation and accommodation fairly cheap for the CAD/USD. You will find goods to be expensive, even things like clothing. Electronics can also be a bit cheaper and competitive with other Asian countries. Not the cheapest place in SEA but Malaysia sits somewhere in the middle.
