Millionaire plans

The only time I usually lay out a lot of money is when I'm traveling

The only time I usually lay out a lot of money is when I’m travelling

I think I’m going to be a millionaire one day. I’m not sure exactly when nor do I know if it’s going to be a slow progression, or from something more instantaneous, like a sale of a company.

When you read that, chances are you will probably think two things: that I’m not going to be a millionaire or you will wish me luck, but you probably don’t think I’ll do it. Something along those lines. It’s a natural thought process. Obtaining that sum of money is a huge mental leap for most people including myself.

They say that the first million is the hardest to earn; mainly because you’ve never done it before and you have to get through all the mental toughness to archive it. It’s something you probably thought was nearly impossible.

Anyways, this post is not actually about that. It’s about what I’m going to do when it happens. There are three things that I know I’m going to do. Just three.

The first and most important thing is that I will book a flight home to visit my family. From there, I would also work out a time to take my family on a trip somewhere.

While I’m in Vancouver, I can do the second thing: I would throw a party for my friends. I would invite people who were supportive of me from the beginning. This is really important to me because I think the people who took the time to encourage you in the beginning make a big difference in the long run. If you’re out-of-town, I’ll fly you in. If you’ve never been to Vancouver, that could be your chance to visit. It won’t be an extravagant party as that’s not really my style, but it’ll have great food, great drinks and a great view.

The third thing I would do is get a ticket to the next Wimbledon grand slam. It’s a dream of mine to attend Wimbledon and that seems like a good time to do it.

So that’s it. Those are the three things I would do. Then it’s back to work.

I’ve totally put it out there. When it happens, you’re welcome to hold me to it.
